On the Fourth of July, Travis and Jasmine Blackshire and their six children, ages 18 to just 2 years old, lost everything in a devastating house fire. What should have been a day of celebration became a fight for survival. In the middle of the night, their brave 4-year-old ran to them in panic, screaming that the house was on fire. In those terrifying moments, their only focus was getting every one of their children safely out of the burning home. They escaped with their lives, but they lost their home and nearly everything they owned.

To make matters even more heartbreaking, the home reportedly had no working smoke detectors and lacked a proper firewall—conditions that could have turned this tragedy into an unimaginable loss. Now this family is starting over from nothing, facing the difficult weeks and months ahead with courage and hope. Donations will go toward temporary housing and relocation expenses, food and everyday necessities, clothing and shoes for the entire family, household essentials and furnishings as they rebuild their lives, and other unexpected expenses that come with starting over.
