Help the Bach Family Recover from a Hidden Disaster

Hi, we’re the Bach Family — a young Navy family doing our best to stay strong through an incredibly difficult time.

We’re a family of four: Dad, an active duty U.S. Navy sailor, Mom, and our two sweet children — Charlie (3 years old) and Noah (6 months old). What was meant to be a joyful new chapter in our first family home has turned into a heartbreaking and financially devastating situation.

Back in September 2022, we purchased a home we believed was safe, stable, and perfect for our little ones. What we didn’t know — and what was never disclosed to us — was that the home’s foundation had been severely damaged by flooding years ago. The damage had been covered up, and all appeared normal until after we moved in.

In 2023 the truth started to reveal itself. Cracks appeared. Doors stopped closing. Floors shifted. We paid for inspections and spent $20,000 on what we were told would fix the issue — only to find out that repair barely scratched the surface. We were devastated to learn the foundation damage was far worse than anyone originally admitted. The full repair cost? Over $130,000.

We turned to lawyers for help, hoping there was a way to hold someone accountable. But legally, we’ve been told we’re stuck. The loopholes are devastatingly wide, and we’re left with a home that’s financially and structurally broken.

To make things even harder, we’ve just received military orders.

Dad is being reassigned, and the options are heartbreaking:

• He moves alone, separating our family and leaving Mom and the babies behind in a crumbling house,

• Or we all go — and take a $150,000 loss we cannot afford.

We are exhausted. We are doing everything we can. And now we’re humbly asking for help.
