Dear Friends and Community,

My name is Murali Avala, and I am reaching out to you from a hospital bed with a completely shattered heart. On Sunday, May 17, 2026, our family was struck by an unimaginable tragedy.

While traveling to White Sands National Park, our vehicle was safely parked in the emergency lane with hazard lights on to switch drivers. Out of nowhere, a pickup truck violently crashed into us. Tragically, my beloved brother, Purna Gopi Avala, passed away at the scene.

Hard Work & Shattered Dreams.

Purna came to the US in 2015 and went through a decade of immense sacrifice and struggle. He was incredibly hardworking and had finally reached a place where he could financially support our entire family. Our parents had just arrived from India three weeks ago, and we were actively planning Purna's marriage. In a single second, all of our dreams were destroyed. Purna was our sole financial provider.

Severe Injuries & Status

While my parents and I survived, we are currently separated across different hospitals dealing with critical, life-altering injuries:

* Father (Retired Military/Ambulance Driver): Suffered a neck fracture, cracked ribs, and severe facial injuries. He was airlifted to UNM Hospital in Albuquerque.

* Mother: Suffered a fractured hand and facial bone fractures.

* Myself (Murali): Just graduated with my Master's. I am recovering from major surgery for severe internal bleeding, chest, back, and leg injuries.

With Purna gone, our family is facing a crushing financial burden that we cannot overcome alone. Your donations will go directly toward emergency medical airlifts, major surgeries, intensive care, and Purna’s funeral expenses.
