After three decades of service to this community, The Art Spirit Gallery is preparing to close its doors—not because it failed to matter, but because it mattered so much for so long. What is being asked for now is not a rescue, but a graceful ending. Those who have stewarded The Art Spirit through the years invested deeply—financially, emotionally, and personally—to keep it alive through COVID, a devastating flood, and mounting economic pressures. Significant personal funds were contributed, and for nearly a year no paycheck was taken, all in an effort to keep the doors open as long as possible—for artists, for the community, for all of us. They should not be left to shoulder this final burden alone.

This fundraiser exists solely to help settle the remaining debts and outstanding obligations so The Art Spirit can close with the dignity, respect, and care it has always shown others. To be clear: donations will be used only to pay current debts and costs associated with an orderly, respectful closing; they will not be used to reimburse the personal investments made by the gallery’s owners.
