Help the Appuhn's Family Start Over
Donation protected
GYSBA is asking for your help to assist one of our own. What was already a hard transition for GYSBA Volunteer Board Member, Thunder Coach, and friend Troy Appuhn, and family, to have to relocate was made worse when the unthinkable happened.
Last week the Appuhn's packed all of their belongings into a moving truck and watched it depart for California. The plan was that they would meet the truck at their new home. The Appuhn's made the trip safe and sound, but after multiple days of wondering where their belongings were when not delivered as planned, the family was finally informed that the truck with everything they owned except the limited clothing and items they could fit in a single vehicle had caught fire and was a complete loss. Just like that, a life’s worth of keepsakes and belongings were gone.
Those of us that know Troy know him as someone who will always help a friend in need. As the GYSBA Field Director, Troy has always made sure that our playing surfaces are cared for, ready to play, and improved upon to better our organization, many times even taking it upon himself to drag fields, pick up trash, or pull bases. As a coach, Troy has led multiple teams over the years. Most currently the 10u Thunder Green team which his son, Hunter, plays on. When his team isn't playing, you can find Troy and family at many other Thunder games providing encouragement and advice.
Now its our turn to give back to a family that has given so much to our org. Your contribution will help the Appuhn's rebuild what they have lost. Donations will go directly to the Appuhn family to replace those items, including clothing and essential items and help the Appuhn's get back on their feet.
Gretna is more than just a city; it's a community that unites to support each other in times of difficulty. Let's rally around Troy and the Appuhn family to remind them they have our full support. Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated.
