The Angel Family Needs a New Car STAT!

Please help Alysia and her four kiddos get a safe and reliable vehicle this holiday season. Their family van that they have had since 2018 has been a total lemon. It’s slowly broken down until it left them stranded on the side of the road in a cloud of smoke last month!

She still owes almost $7000 on the broken down van so we are fundraising to pay off the car loan and pay outright for a reliable (but used) vehicle so she doesn't have the added burden of car payments while living on a tight income.

From our dear friend Alysia:

"I do a lot of driving. Sometimes I am in the car all day going to appointments for my high needs kids. We badly need a solid and well made vehicle ASAP.

My family has been through so much in the past 7 years and we could not have survived this without community support. Being a single momma to four kiddos, without any blood relatives, with a worsening disability that prohibits me from working, means I have to be hustling all day and night for my kiddos. From doctor and therapy appointments to how I will get groceries every week, to finding free fun activities for us all and of course keeping the house running I am beyond busy all week long.

I love being a mom, especially to the four kids that I chose to foster/adopt. I was a former foster kiddo who was never adopted and would have languished in group homes had I not chosen at 15 to live unhoused until I could be old enough to rent my own apartment. It would take 2 years, a GED, and low paying work to get there. I made a promise to myself then that I would never be unhoused again and that I would foster/adopt when I decided to become a parent. I have fulfilled both of those promises. I am proud to say that I own our little jewel box of a family home in California and the mortgage is very reasonable!

A mom like me will never be rich. I will not be able to give my kids their own bedrooms or buy them cars when they are old enough to drive. I say no a lot to anything that costs money. Though I am not rich in the monetary sense, I am a veritable billionaire when it comes to friends and chosen family. My children will always have a solid community of people looking out for them. We have so much privilege.

This is why I am asking my community if they would consider helping us get a safe and reliable vehicle. Can you help us? We would be enormously grateful for any donation and well wishes.
