My name is Grace, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family—my mother, our two beloved cats, and myself. My mother is gravely disabled with vascular dementia, and for the past two years, I have been her full-time, unpaid caregiver. We have been surviving solely on her social security, which unfortunately does not cover all of our bills or basic needs.

Recently, we received a notice to vacate our apartment by January 5th. This sudden situation has left us feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about where to turn next. I have done everything I can to care for my mother and keep us all together, but now we are facing the very real possibility of homelessness.

In the immediate future, any funds raised will go directly toward keeping us off the streets, covering the cost of a motel or other temporary shelter so that my mother, our cats, and I have a safe place to stay while we search for something more permanent. Looking ahead, your support will help us secure a deposit and hopefully a few months’ rent on a new, stable place to live. This will give me the time I need to get everything in place so I can earn money and support us on my own.
