Help the Alday Family Recover from Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
Know one could have imagined that in a single night, all our lives would be turned upside down. When Hurricane Helene barreled through, our community hunkered down, hoping for the best, but what came in its wake was unimaginable devastation.
The floodwaters surged, breaching walls and destroying everything in their path. Roof tiles were torn away, windows shattered, our belongings swept into the chaos. As the storm passed, our community walked through what was once our home, only to find that so much of it was unrecognizable.
As some may know , my mother’s home in Asheville NC, the place where we’ve built memories, shared laughter, and felt safe, was left damaged. A tree fell and punctured the roof allowing water to seep in. In addition to structural damage done, we have recently discovered black mold.
While we are beyond grateful to have made it through safely, she and my siblings now face the daunting task of rebuilding our lives from the ground up. Insurance will help some, but the costs of repairing structural damage, replacing essentials, and restoring my mother’s home to a livable condition far exceed what we can cover on our own.
This is why we are reaching out for help. We know that times are tough for everyone, and it’s never easy to ask, but any support you can offer would mean the world to us. Your donation, no matter the size, will help my family start the long road of recovery with a bit of peace of mind. We are determined to rebuild not just our house, but our sense of home - however that may look like. With your kindness, we believe we can get there.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading our story and for any support you can give. Even sharing this page with others means so much to us.
With gratitude and hope, the Alday family.
