*Update*

Ethan was hospitalized again and had another stent placed that should have been addressed in January. After he was discharged he was back in the hospital within an hour. I ended up having him transferred to Christ hospital where we were lucky enough to get in touch with 2 incredible specialists who FINALLY helped us get answers. Ethan has been to the hospital 5 times since January, and with his upcoming procedure will be even more time without work. If you are able, thank you for helping our family. The Adams

My name is Missy (Melissa) Adams. Recently my husband had a widow maker heart attack that has rocked our world. In addition to that, we found out he has Polycythemia which complicates his treatment. Just his heart/ blood medication costs about $1,200/ month and we haven't seen the hematologist yet. Over the last few years it feels like our family has had one medical or life event after another.

Our daughter was hospitalized in 2023 amd shortly after I was in a car accident and totaled my car. Then later that year I hurt my ankle and had to have reconstructive surgery Dec 2023. Another daughter had surgery Jan 2024 to remove her tonsils because she was chronically sick with strep. Our son tore ligaments in his thumb June 2024 requiring surgery to repair the damage. Then he needed surgery again 2024 Nov to remove his tonsils for similar reasons to my daughter. Ethan was in and out of the hospital with kidney stone issues, one of which required him to be admitted for anemergency procedure to remove the stone. Then at the beginning of this year (2025) Ethan had his heart attack. Since then he's been back to the hospital twice for issues related to his heart. And that's just the last 3 years.

It feels like any time we try to catch up financially, something else knocks us back. And this time is one of the hardest because my husband is the bread winner. I am blessed to be a gymnastic coach at Gymnastic Central in Ohio, but passion doesn't always pay the bills. I take pride on working hard and making my own way, but I have to swallow my pride and ask for help.

While we have insurance, the deductible is enormous ($12,000 a year) before insurance pays a dime, so we are still working to pay off the last 2 years. I'm more than grateful for any help given, and the generosity of those who have already helped us along the way. Even just sharing this would be helping us.
