We are the Acosta-Young family—two parents and four wonderful kids (ages 10, 8, 7, and 2). Right now, we are living together in my parents’ living room, doing our best to stay strong as a blended family of six.

We’ve been offered a rare dual-opportunity in Nebraska: management and coaching positions at a new parkour facility. After more than two years of caregiving and struggling to make ends meet in California, this is our chance to rebuild stability with two steady incomes, lower living costs, and a community where our skills can shine.

Why We Need Support

Our only vehicle is a 5-seater sedan — but we’re a family of six. For two years we’ve been splitting into two cars, relying on rentals, or missing family events because we simply couldn’t all fit.

To relocate safely to Nebraska, we need a reliable minivan or SUV that seats all six of us, can tow a trailer if needed, and will serve as our family’s lifeline for years to come.

We have just two weeks to secure this vehicle before we move across the country for our October 9th job start date.

Our Story of Resilience

In May 2022, our family’s world turned upside down when we lost everything in a rollover accident. We were living in a travel trailer, pulling it with a borrowed truck when both were totaled. In the aftermath, a friend organized a fundraiser, and our community — friends, clients, and extended family — came together to help us survive.

With their generosity, we were able to cover one month’s expenses for temporary shelter, food, vehicle debt repayment, and a down payment for a replacement RV home. This support was a lifeline and allowed us to get back on our feet during one of the hardest months of our lives.

Since then, we’ve endured job loss, medical bills, eviction notices, and countless two-trip drives with kids just to get to basic appointments. Despite all this, we’ve kept going. Quinlan has worked multiple jobs. I’ve resold items, taken odd gigs, and applied for coaching positions. We’ve lived minimally and accepted help when needed — always with gratitude — while focusing on rebuilding stability for our family.
