Mohammed reached out to me on Instagram. The unfolding Genocide and destruction has left many without options, families like Mohammed's are relying soley on the compassion and actions of us in the west to help them.
My name is Mohammed, I'm 16 years old from Gaza. I lost my father in this war, and I'm now responsible for my mother and younger siblings. Today we are living the most difficult days of our lives, without food or safe shelter. All we have left are the compassionate hearts of people who may extend a helping hand. Every donation from you is a hope for life, and a reason to save my siblings' childhood from hunger and fear. Help us persevere, help us live.
Fundraising sites and Paypal are blocked and it is almost impossible to get money in and out of Gazan accounts. We are trying to help the Abu Rida family survive and ensure the family gets food and urgent medical attention. Mohammed is a child. When I was his age my worries were insignificant. Show your humanity and your heart and help those who have no options left.
This is the face of a child who has been through way too much. We all owe our brothers and sisters that which we can spare, and hopefully more. I implore you to dig deep and give.
I am Troy Kickett-Collard, a Whadjuk Ballardong Nyoongar. I have worked in and around the Department of Justice, with the Aboriginal Legal Service and in other smaller projects as Case Worker and advocate for people in difficult situations. My lifes work is service to Indigenous peoples and to humanity. I could care less about anything else with the exception of fulfiling my duties and keeping my good standing so as to further fulfil those duties. All funds will be raised on behalf of this family and I will not see a cent of it.
