Help The Berry Family Move Beyond Motel Life

Hi guys my name is Lexi, I’m gonna try to make this short. I am a part of the Berry family. As some of you know life hasn’t been easy for us. On September 7th, 2023 the start of my senior year, due to circumstances out of my family’s control me and my family were evicted out of our home. It was very heartbreaking cause my parents and grandpa took care of me and my twin brother since early childhood. After everything happened we ended up in America’s Best Value Motel. We stayed for a couple of days until September 12th of 2023, family friends David and Shelley Roger’s took me and Tyler in as my parents stayed back. We were with them all the way through my senior year so my parents could try to get back up on their feet. It was amazing at The Roger’s home. They welcomed us with open hearts and minds and we can never thank them enough for what they did for us. May 31st of 2024 we ended back with parents at the motel and ever since then we’ve been with them. Life at a motel is not easy and especially without a car. We had a 2 bed and 1 bathroom. My parents were paying $72 a night to live there so if you put that into perspective. Every week they were paying $504, every month they paying $2,016. So them trying to save money in and out of jobs was hard. Obviously since you have one room that you share with 3 other people the only privacy you have is the bathroom unless no one is at the room. We are a family of 4 so it tended to get crowded with all of our things. On top of all the stuff when it came to eating and washing clothes it was hard. We were constantly eating take out which is nice but they’re were plenty of nights where we just wanted a home cooked meal. We’d have to go up to a laundry mat to wash our clothes when we had the money to or some times hand wash things to make it work. With the no car situation we were walking everywhere unless someone could pick us up and that’s not fun in the dead heat of summer. Again since then we’ve been at the motel until Saturday, June 21st if 2024 we were once again evicted. They’re was no conversation about it. It was either we had the money or we had to leave and the owners dad threatened to call the cops on us when we did nothing wrong. So as of today me and my brother have been bouncing from house to house and my parents have been trying to figure things out.
