My name is Tess, and I am raising funds to protect my son Gunner and rebuild our lives after escaping an abusive situation. Gunner is almost 9 months old and truly my entire world he’s the happiest, sweetest little boy who loves people, animals (especially dogs), and his favorite movie, Minuscule: The Valley of Lost Ants. Every morning, he lights up with joy watching it, and his laughter reminds me why I have to keep fighting for his safety and happiness.

Since Gunner was born, we have faced ongoing abuse from his father, who has repeatedly put Gunner in harm’s way. I made the difficult decision to leave everything behind in Indiana and seek safety in Florida, but his father quickly filed an emergency petition in Indiana. Now, I am facing overwhelming legal fees for two lawyers one in Indiana and one in Florida while also trying to provide for Gunner’s basic needs. We lost everything except the clothes on our backs. His father is seeking full custody and child support, despite never reaching out to see Gunner except to try to bring us back under his control. There have been multiple police reports and even a case involving gun violence, making our situation even more urgent.

Our next court hearing is on June 25th in Indiana, with another expected in Florida soon after. I am asking for help to cover legal fees and basic necessities so I can keep Gunner safe, healthy, and happy. Any support during this critical time means the world to us and will help us start rebuilding our lives in a safe environment.

I am eager to begin my journey into nursing school and start working as soon as possible. I’ve been actively applying for jobs and taking every opportunity to grow, all while striving to be the best mother I can be. After dedicating time to being a stay at home mom, I am now excited and ready to re enter the workforce and advance my career.
