Hi, my name is Joana and I'm based in London. The family of my good friend Mingma, who lives in Kathmandu, Nepal, has been terribly affected by the recent floods. I wonder if we can come together to help them?

Mingma's brother, Tenzing Sherpa, was a 37-year-old trekking guide from Taksindu in the Solukhumbu district. He was caught in the disaster and remains missing.

Mingma says:

“My brother Tenzing was a very hard-working guy, and he loved his job. He was so friendly with everyone, and was the backbone of his family. He mostly lived in the village with his family, whom he loved dearly.”

Tenzing's wife, Bombole (29), is now facing an unimaginable situation with their two young children, Mingmar Nuru (10) and Yangchen (22 months), having to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of this catastrophe.

We are raising £5,500 to help Bombole and the two young children through this incredibly difficult time - providing support with safe accommodation, food, essential household needs, healthcare, education and longer-term financial stability. The funds will be transferred from me (Joana) to the Sherpa family.

£10, £50 or £100 may seem like a modest donation, but together we can give this young family some security and support when they need it most.
