Hi , my name is Anna Tembo, and I’m Christian Tembo’s little sister
Many of you know him as Tembo.
Tembo came to the U.S. legally at the age of 9 under Catholic Charities, along with me and our siblings, after we lost both our parents and our little sister to the ethnic cleansing in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We were granted refugee status and have lived in America ever since for 25 years. This is the only home Christian knows.
A little over a week ago, Christian was picked up by ICE . He’s been in immigration detention ever since and now faces possible deportation back to a country that is still extremely dangerous, especially for someone with our family’s history. Sending him back would be putting his life at risk.
Christian is the most generous and loving person I know. He’s known in his community for his big heart, positive energy, and selfless spirit. He’s always stepped up for others — organizing small fundraisers and games at local bars to help families in need. Now, he’s the one who needs help.
We are trying to raise funds to hire an experienced immigration lawyer who can help get him out of detention and fight for his right to stay in the only country he’s ever called home. Any amount you can give will go directly toward legal costs.
Please help us bring Christian home. Thank you so much for your love, support, and prayers.
—Anna Tembo
