We are trying to surprise a single mother who has not seen her children for over three years by helping her return home to them permanently.

Teeyah is a 27-year-old Muslim sister from Nigeria, and truly one of the most selfless people I have ever met.

But before anything else, she is a mother.

A mother who has not been able to see, hug, or hold her two young children for over three years.

She made the heartbreaking decision to leave her home and her babies behind to work abroad so she could give them a better life. For the first 20 months she earned only £11 per month, as she had to repay the sponsor who brought her here. During that time she was exploited and taken advantage of by her previous employer. Despite everything, she remained patient and steadfast because her children depend on her sacrifice.

Late last year Teeyah became ill and lost her job. By the will of Allah she now lives with my family, helping me care for my children while I study. We love her deeply, and she cares for my children with such tenderness, mercy and sincerity — truly as if they were her own.

Yet every single day she carries the pain of being separated from her own children.

She works tirelessly and sends what she can home to cover their school fees and basic needs. She is a single mother, and a friend has been caring for her children in her absence.

Instead of simply raising money for her to visit them, we want to do something even more meaningful.

We want to help send Teeyah home to her children permanently.

Our goal is to raise enough to cover:

• Her passport renewal and flight home

• One year of rent so she has stable housing

• Her children’s school fees for a year

• Basic necessities while she finds a job and rebuilds her life

This will give her the stability she needs so she can return home without the fear of immediate financial struggle.

Most importantly, it will reunite a mother with her children — not just for a visit, but for good.

This fundraiser is a surprise, and she has no idea we are doing this.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will help bring Teeyah back home to her children and give her the chance to rebuild her life with them by her side.
