Help teen, witnessed dad & puppy murdered by mom

It is with an extremely heavy and broken heart that I even have to write this.  Brandon SCOTT Smith was an incredible person. To say he was the coolest, most interesting person would be an understatement. He was also a loving son, a brother, a cousin, an uncle, a friend to many, a husband... but first and foremost, he was a great father. His wife suffered a severe mental illness of which he tried, with all his might, to get her treatment because he said loved her so much and wanted her to get better... wanted the woman he married back. With every attempt to get her treatment, he was let down by multiple mental facilities' lack of involvement. The system failed him (and their daughter) in so many ways. They failed him so terribly! The blame lies on their shortcomings. Law enforcement failed to do their job on numerous occasions and the mental health depts failed to provide her proper treatment resulting in her MURDERING her sweet husband and their sweet puppy in cold blood on March 21st, 2021! This all happened while their daughter, Abigail, was in the home!  Abbie, my niece, continues to be in shock from the nightmare that happened to her that horrific night. She continues to struggle with memories of hearing the gunshots, hearing her daddy scream out in pain from multiple gunshot wounds and then trying so hard to place pressure on his wounds to help him... All while her mother just stood there with the weapon... Just watching her try to save her sweet daddy so desperately. She said he was looking up saying, "Please, God, I don't want to die." Abigail continues to mention that she can not stop replaying the events of the night that would change her life forever. It's something she will never forget and will struggle with her ENTIRE LIFE! Her daddy, my brother, told me just 3 wks ago that he was her hero and always would be. AND HE WAS! After being shot, he managed to call 911 to tell them his wife shot him, that she was still in the home/armed and that his 14 yr old daughter was also in the house. Abigail, herself, told us she was his one and only pride and joy! This fundraiser is to ask for support in ensuring that her care and needs are met in every way possible as she has a very hard, long healing process ahead of her. The funds will be used for things such as therapy, clothing, school needs, etc. She lost both parents in a single moment and is going to need much support. Any amount is much appreciated and will ALL go to my niece. Abbie is now living with her Uncle Jason and Aunt Jennifer Smith. They will be in charge of the use of these proceeds as needed by Abbie. Thank you for your donations.

I will also be creating a Facebook page in his memory for people to share words, memories and pictures of him. I will update with that link once done.

Thank you in advance for supporting Abbie. H
