Help T.B. and Her Dog Get Back on Their Feet

T.B. lost both her job and the temporary shelter she relied on during the Wisconsin blizzard this past weekend.

She and her dog were made to face the cold yet again and now have an even more uncertain future.

We are raising funds to help them secure emergency lodging and stable housing.

For her safety and privacy, we are using initials only.

T.B. is a trans woman who has been navigating homelessness while continuing to work and maintain employment whenever possible.

She has a solid work history and has already secured new employment, showing her commitment to rebuilding stability.

Until this week, T.B. had access to a temporary place to sleep through her job, which allowed her to stay safe while working and saving toward housing.

However, T.B. and several coworkers experienced sexual harassment in their workplace and spoke out about it. Following this, she lost her job — and with it, the temporary shelter that came with that employment.

During the Wisconsin blizzard this weekend, the loss of both income and safe shelter happened at the same time, leaving her suddenly without a place to stay.

T.B. also has a dog who is her constant companion and emotional support. Separating them is not an option. Without assistance, both of them will remain unsheltered.

Our immediate priority is getting T.B. and her dog somewhere safe and warm while she transitions into her new job and we work toward permanent housing.

Funds raised will help cover:

• Emergency hotel lodging for 1–2 months so T.B. and her dog have a safe place to stay while housing is secured

• A security deposit and several months of rent to help her move into a stable apartment

• Daily survival expenses that come with homelessness, such as quick meals, laundromat access, transportation/bus fare, and other basic necessities

Housing instability can escalate quickly when income and shelter are lost at the same time. This fundraiser is intended to create enough breathing room for T.B. to stabilize, maintain her new employment, secure housing, and get back on her feet.

Every contribution helps move T.B. and her dog closer to safety, stability, and a fresh start.
