Help Grey Recover and Rebuild
Donation protected
My name is grey, and I’m reaching out for help after a traumatic experience that has left me unable to work and struggling to get by while already on disability due to mental health reasons. In 2010, at just 17 years old, I underwent a spinal fusion to correct genetic scoliosis, which has always made life a bit more challenging as I am severely weaker in my left side and my torso.
Two and a half months ago, I was assaulted by family during a time when they believed I was having a mental health crisis. While I was trying to leave a volatile situation peacefully, one party blocked the door and another forcefully yanked my right arm—my dominant hand—and pulled my hair while I was on the phone with my fiancé as I attempted to flee. Since then, I’ve been left feeling lost and scared, but I’m grateful to have the support of my chosen family as I try to recover.
The aftermath of the assault has made it nearly impossible for me to work, and I’m facing urgent needs like rent, bills, food, and ongoing medical care.
My fiancé and I are also hoping to move next year to a safer place where I can focus on healing. Our goal is to find peace and stability far from our current home, and to build a new life together. I dream of living closer to New York so we can be closer to friends, family, and much more.
Your support will help us cover basic living expenses, medical costs, and moving expenses as we work toward a safer, more hopeful future. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference in helping me recover and rebuild my life. Many thanks!
