Hello! Thank you for finding our page. Our names are Taylor and Brienna. In March of 2024, after years of an infertility journey, we adopted our daughter, Isla, as a newborn. The following months were the best and worst of our lives, as it became clear that her birth father would pursue his parental rights. After 6 months in our home, she was moved to live with her birth family permanently. Along with losing our girl, we lost over $130,000 in nonrefundable legal fees for both ourselves and the adoption agency, adoption costs, hospital bills, travel, and the day to day costs of raising a baby for 6 months. Understandably, the emotional and financial toll of this experience is daunting to recover from. We are grateful for any support to recover from our losses and begin to rebuild hope of trying again for our family.

Along with rebuilding our own story, we are looking to spread awareness of the true costs of adoption, help others make the choices that are right for them! Please exercise caution, patience, and thoroughness when choosing a state and adoption agency, as they vary drastically. We are available as a resource for anyone considering adoption.

$5,500 Adoption Consultant (they held our hands through the paperwork and trainings, and helped us put together a profile)

$4,458 Home Study and State Trainings (the process of becoming qualified to adopt in your state)

$1,320 Profile Costs (this is the book shown to birth mothers of adoptive families- photography, making the book, printing and shipping)

$5,810 Matching Process (this is the cost to be signed up with agencies to show your profile to expecting moms - agency application fees, additional trainings, certified documents)

$17,088 - TOTAL ABOVE before adoption takes place. This is the total spent to get to the point where we *can* adopt.

$48,000 Adoption Cost (paid to the Adoption Agency to place a child with an adoptive family)

$7,920 Hospital Bills for both the birth mom and baby (we received a significant discount due to our adoption situation, but prior to this generosity from the hospital these were over $25,000 in bills)

$9,584 Post Placement (travel costs, home visit fees, finalization legal bill, and ICPC)
