Help Me Reunite with My Grandma — The Woman Who Raised Me

Hi, my name is Tara, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart.

My grandma is more than just family — she’s the woman who raised me, who loved me unconditionally when I didn’t always get that from my own mother. She was my safe place, my teacher, my biggest supporter. It’s been six years since I’ve seen her, and in that time, life has changed in ways I never imagined.

She’s now living in stage 4 (of 5) Parkinson’s disease, and dementia is starting to set in. Every day, her memory fades a little more, and the thought of her forgetting me — us — breaks me. I just want to hold her hand again, to remind her that I’m still here, that the love we shared is still alive in me. Time is slipping away faster than I can catch it.

I’m asking for help to raise funds so I can travel to see her while she still remembers. I’ve never been one to ask for help like this, but this is something I can’t do on my own.
