Help Tanya Provide Meals for Those in Need

Story

Hello my name is Tanya Valencia I thought maybe it's time to update my story I am from Fremont California I moved here around 7 or 8 years ago ?? It's took some getting used to but now I love it here ❤️ the only thing I miss is the ocean I have battled with addiction and alcoholism for 35 years I've been clean off meth for 22 years and receipt 4 years sober on October 25th 2024 It took death for me to quit drinking, my doctor told me I have cirrhosis of the liver and if I continued to drink I would not be around much longer So I personally take it as Jesus wants me here for a reason and I know the number one reason is my youngest son who also struggled with alcohol ( he's going on two and a half years sober) almost lost his life due to liver and kidney failure/ disease The ER said he wasn't going to last 3 days!!! But God had other plans, He received a transplant in two months and held on with every bit of his life ❤️ and did you know if you don't have anybody to support you when you have a liver transplant they just let you die? So I'm saying that if God didn't save me from alcoholism I wouldn't have been there to take care of my son ❤️ ❤️ and now he's helping serve at the resource center with us!!! Praise God I know I've done a lot of wrong things back in my addiction but I know God forgives me And I'm not doing this (big T's feeding those in need) just by coincidence I remember now how it started ❣️ please forgive me I'm old and my brain doesn't work as well as it used to. So I remember I used to go to mutual aid when it was on 5th and Ouray across from the library and get food for my son and myself and especially go there for the Ramdan's (beans and potatoes soup and amazing mac and cheese) every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. then they moved to the resource center (where we do our serving with Big T's feeding those in need every Monday and Thursday at 3:00 pm ) so one day I asked Stephanie the lady that runs mutual aid there if I could possibly bring a crock pot to share with the community? Along with the Ramdan's?? She said not at that time so one of the homeward bound resource centers staff members came up to me and said you can come in the other day on your own ❤️❤️❤️ I'm like really? So they have different people that come different days of the week to serve our unhoused and hungry friends and family in our community I saw that Mondays and Thursdays weren't taken so I put my name on the board and that's where the magic started At first it was just my son Jesse and myself with help for my church on Sundays because I also volunteer in their food bank and get to shop Also but as I've shared we started at around a dozen people and now we're up to almost 200 individuals every week and it's going to keep getting longer with the colder weather ☁️ Time for some hot soups At first I was using our own money and food out of our own home ,but that wasn't working, it wasn't enough and we certainly couldn't do it by ourselves and because of your help and support and we are still going ❤️ You'd be amazed on how fast the money that we've received has went I've also been homeless with two little kids back in the mid-90s and it was somewhere I never want to be again in my life And also with my addiction and alcoholism and then also on top of that being homeless I can totally pretty much relate to most of the people that come through our line ❤️ Your support is very appreciated and needed Love and God bless you all ❤️ You can also go on YouTube and search for ( Big T's feeding those in need) and watch us on the news and also we have a Facebook page under (Big T's feeding those in need) ❤️❤️❤️❤️ God bless you all and thank you for taking time to read a bit of my story, I really believe this is my calling and why God's kept me here alive and sober Love and God bless you and your families
