A Mother’s Plea for Her Son

As a mother, one of the hardest things in the world is watching your child go through something painful and knowing you can’t take that pain away. Today, I’m reaching out to family, friends, and kindhearted people who may be able to help my son during one of the most difficult seasons of his life.

My son Tanner Hendrix is recovering from a work-related gunshot injury. What should have been another day of working hard and building a future for himself suddenly changed his life. He is now facing the physical, emotional, and financial challenges that come with recovering from such a traumatic experience.

Before this happened, my son was working hard to build his very own tiny home. This isn’t just a house—it represents his dreams, his independence, his hard work, and the future he has been trying to create for himself. He has poured his time, energy, and heart into making this dream a reality.

Now, because of his injury, his income has decreased. Even though hes currently able to receive workmans comp, it is barely covering a little more than half of his normal income. He is trying to recover while also worrying about everyday expenses, and how he will continue to build the home he has worked so hard for. As his mama, it hurts my heart to see him have to carry these burdens while he is still healing.

He has already been through so much, and I want him to know he doesn’t have to face this alone.

I’m asking for help—not because my son isn’t strong, but because even the strongest people need someone to lean on sometimes. He deserves the opportunity to focus on getting better without the constant worry of how he will make ends meet.

Every donation will help provide financial relief during his recovery and help him continue working toward his tiny home when he is able. Whether it helps with living expenses, recovery-related costs, or materials for his home, every bit of support will make a difference.

My hope is that one day soon, my son will be able to look back on this difficult time and see that even when life knocked him down, people came together to help him get back on his feet.
