Six months ago, my goddaughter gave birth to her second gorgeous baby. She also received a diagnosis of congestive heart failure! Fortunately, she is recovering, and now it's time for her to go back to work. But her old car became a home for field mice in the months she wasn't using it and had to be junked. Tanika needs reliable transportation to bring her kids to and from preschool/daycare and to get back to her job at UMass.

We are trying to raise the funds to get her a reliable used car that will accommodate two car seats, the kids' double stroller, and all the accessories that traveling with a toddler and baby requires.

Know that your contributions will be paid forward! Her partner (a recent immigrant himself) works with new immigrants, and it's not unusual to find them both making big batches of stew to deliver to a family of refugees spending their first night in the US in an airport hotel. This family gives back to community in countless ways all year long.
