Tamika, a hardworking and devoted single mother, was hospitalized for 13 days in December 2024. After weeks of unexplained illness and pain, doctors finally discovered the devastating reason: kidney failure.

Since then, Tamika’s life has been turned upside down. She is now undergoing regular dialysis treatments, which have left her unable to work. The physical toll is exhausting, the emotional toll is heavy — and the financial burden is growing by the day.

She is currently awaiting approval for disability benefits, but as anyone who's gone through the system knows, that process is slow. Meanwhile, the rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and medical bills continue to pile up. And let’s be honest — her kids can’t pause their needs while the paperwork catches up.
