As you all know, Takano is one of the nicest kindest guy you have probably met. Also a consummate professional and someone who has given way over a 100% in both personal and professional relationships.

In an unfortunate turn of events, he is on a leave of absence without pay forced by the situation he finds himself due to the pandemic induced immigration approval backlog. While his Green card application itself is approved, his current work visa has expired and the new employment card is not yet here. This leaves him unemployable while legally allowing him to stay in the US.

He and his family of 6 including very young children live in SoCal region with very high monthly expenses and no access to the safety net benefits that US Citizens and Green card holders would get. What he DOES have is a cache of extremely kind and generous minded friends such as you - both within and outside of IBM.

I hope this campaign appeals to your generous side and help Takano's family weather through this crazy yet temporary time of need. As of now, the outlook for his re-employment seems to be another 3-4 months away. I have set a modest 10k goal, that I hope we are able to blow through giving his family enough support over the months of need.
