La Nueva Esperanza de Cambio / Sem Juabnak Tsaba Mochanjisejandmana / The New Hope of Change

This campaign is to support our beloved teacher, Taita Salvador Juajibioy, and his family of the Kamëntsá people continue building the sacred space and school they have begun in the mountains of Putumayo, Colombia. Below you can read, in English and Spanish, Taita's own words on his story, vision, and mission.

ENGLISH:

As a Kamëntsá Biya family, we are concerned about the slow disappearance of our culture and true origin, with our people bowed to the system of the state more each day. For many years, we have set ourselves the task of demonstrating, through life examples, that if we can go back to start , independence is the value and energy that accompanies us, as the elders have entrusted us, that thanks to sacred medicine--plants such as Yage, Chichaja, Conquindo, Chonduro. These are master plants that our elders have left us, and they are our guides to continue fulfilling this arduous task.

Our mission is to create a new conscious and independent community, with a sense of belonging, recovering lost principles and values, such as the mother tongue, traditional medicine, rituals of payment, and the true defense of the territory.

Our vision is to show our people and the world, that it is possible to return to the origin and begin to sow a real change in them, one where they are welcome to believe, and to continue creating. Together, as a great Kamëntsá family that they are, they may carry a message of healing with sacred plants from this magical jungle to the whole world, and demonstrate the path of true change through actions.

Today as Kamëntsás we have the opportunity to share our stories of actions, values, sacred medicine, in order to strengthen the teachings of my wise elders, who have contributed to survival as Kamëntsá in space and time.

With humility, love and respect, we need help to build a shinshak and a small school.

Shinshak: the sacred space where sacred medicine is shared in the ceremony.

School: for teaching the mother tongue, basketry, crafts, traditional medicine.

May the infinite natural grandeur bless every feeling and heart that supports us that supports us.

Como familia Kamëntsá Biya, preocupados por la lenta desaparición de nuestra cultura y verdadero origen, cada vez mi pueblo doblegado ante el sistema del estado, hace años atrás, nos hemos puesto en la tarea de mostrar con ejemplos de vida, que si podemos volver a comenzar, la independencia es el valor y energía que nos acompaña, como los mayores nos han encomendado, que gracias a la medicine sagrado, plantas como el Yage, Chichaja, Conquindo, Chonduro, plantas maestras que nos dejaron nuestros mayores, son nuestros guías para seguir cumpliendo esta ardua tarea.

Sanamos sentir y ser, para poder llevar un mensaje con claridad a nuestro pueblo y al mundo entero.

La misión es ir creando una nueva comunidad consciente e independiente, con sentido de pertenencia, recuperando principios y valores que se han perdido, como lengua materna, medicina tradicional, rituales de pagamento, y la verdadera defensa de territorio.

Nuestra visión es mostrarles a mi pueblo y al mundo, que es posible volver al origen y comenzar sembrar en ellos el verdadero cambio, donde son bienvenidos a creer, para poder seguir creando, y que juntos como gran familia Kamëntsá que somos, llevar un mensaje de sanación con plantas sagradas de esta selva mágica al mundo entero, siempre y cuando mostrado con hechos el verdadero cambio.

Hoy como Kamëntsá tenemos la oportunidad de compartir nuestras historias desde los hechos, valores, la medicina sagrada, con el fin de fortalecer las enseñanzas de mis abuelos sabedores que han contribuido para la supervivencia como Kamëntsá en el espacio y el tiempo.

Con humildad, amor y respeto, solicitamos la ayuda, para la construcción de un shinshak y una escuelita.

Shinshak: el espacio sagrado donde se comparte la medicina sagrada en ceremonia.

Escuelita: para enseñanza de lengua materna, cestería, artesanía, medicina tradicional.

La gran fuerza infinita natural, bendiga a cada sentir y corazón que nos apoyan.
