On Wednesday August 26th, my daughter Tai was taken by ambulance to Sunrise children’s hospital with what turned out two be two large pulmonary embolisms very close to her heart.
We are currently recovering treatment that will include surgery today, a hospital stay until at least Monday, significant recovery times, possibly rehab, and a number of outpatient follow ups. Her dad and I are here with her in the hospital for as long as we need.
Because she is only 17 and this not a normal happening for someone so young, after her emergency treatment is done, there will be many follow-ups with specialists including interventional radiology, hematology and more, depending on what test results show us.
We are asking for help with a few things:
-gas costs going back and forth from home and the hospital
-food for myself and her dad while we are here at the hospital
-help with what will undoubtedly be significant medical and ongoing costs, and
-general financial support as both myself and her father are out of PTO.
We are grateful for literally any amount you could donate while we are trying to navigate this scary time for our family. Thank you for considering helping us.
