On May 26th, Sylvia and her daughters were the victims of an unjust demolition carried out by the municipality (more info here), which brought a sudden end to years of hard work. Anyone who knows Sylvia and her family knows how tirelessly they’ve worked since the founding of Sylvia’s Place—a warm, welcoming space where Sylvia’s love of cooking and hospitality made everyone feel at home.

The demolition destroyed both her business and her home, leaving Sylvia and her daughters with nothing, having to start over from scratch. Despite everything, they’re facing this challenge with courage and determination, knowing they’ll get through it.

Sylvia’s first step is to pay off the debts from her ongoing legal battle and prepare for upcoming legal fees. Next, she needs a car to begin catering work. Once a decision is made regarding her property, she’ll be able to determine whether to rebuild her business there or relocate elsewhere.

El pasado 26 de mayo, Sylvia y sus hijas fueron víctimas de una demolición injusta por parte de la municipalidad (más info aquí) que acabó con su esfuerzo de años. Los que conocen a Sylvia y su familia saben cuánto han trabajado desde que inició Sylvia’s Place, donde su amor por cocinar y su hospitalidad hace que todos se sientan en casa.

Destruyeron su negocio y su hogar, dejando a Sylvia y sus niñas con una mano adelante y otra atrás, comenzando desde cero, pero con toda la actitud, sabiendo que saldrán adelante. El primer paso para Sylvia es pagar sus deudas de la lucha legal que ha tenido hasta ahora, y todo lo que viene. Después, necesita conseguir un carro para empezar a trabajar en catering.
