On September 3rd, my mom, Susan Blythe, of Shacklefords, Virginia, experienced the unimaginable—her home was completely destroyed by a fire. In just a matter of minutes, nearly everything she owned and worked so hard for was gone. Thankfully, she wasn’t home when the fire broke out, and her dog, Stevie, managed to make it to safety through a doggy door leading to the backyard. Miraculously, a few photo albums that had been tucked away in an ottoman survived, but everything else—furniture, clothing, and all of her belongings—was lost. Unfortunately, the property is uninsured.

Susan is not the type to ask for help, but she and Stevie truly need it right now. Starting over after losing everything is overwhelming, and any support will make a difference as she begins to rebuild.
