A quick update on my aunt
She was rushed to the hospital because of a serious electrical issue with her heart, and what was supposed to be a simple pacemaker procedure turned into a much more complex surgery on Tuesday. It took longer than expected, and she had to stay in the hospital for close monitoring.
She’s home now (thank God), but recovery will take about 4–6 weeks. She has strict limitations — limited arm movement, a cardiac diet, and lots of follow-up appointments. Her kids are staying out of town for now so she can really focus on healing.
This Christmas looks very different for our family. She’s also been out of work since October due to medical issues, and the financial stress has been heavy.
If you’re able to help in any way — or even just share — it truly means more than we can say. Thank you for all the love, prayers, and support.
Hi everyone
We’re sharing this fundraiser to help support Zoraida, who is currently going through a serious and completely unexpected medical emergency.
Zoraida is in the hospital for the first time and is expected to stay several days while doctors run tests and monitor her closely. Over the next few weeks, she’ll also have multiple specialist appointments and ongoing medical care.
Since October 8, Zoraida hasn’t been able to work due to a work-related injury that continued to worsen. Even through pain and uncertainty, she did everything she could to keep her household going — stretching every dollar, navigating workers’ comp, and pushing through daily life. For weeks, she wasn’t feeling well but kept going, even while preparing for her daughter’s quinceañera.
Unfortunately, her health took a sudden turn, and she was rushed to the hospital.
At just 41 years old, Zoraida is now facing the unexpected reality of needing a pacemaker due to heart rhythm issues that have caused her heart to pause at times. She is under close medical supervision and has been told she will need at least six weeks of recovery, during which she won’t be able to work.
This has caused a sudden and overwhelming loss of income.
Zoraida is also the primary caregiver for her children. While she focuses on healing and attending medical appointments, she needs extra support to keep her household stable.
This fundraiser is simply meant to help her breathe a little during this incredibly stressful time — because medical bills, rent, and everyday expenses don’t pause when life does.
Funds will help with:
• Rent and utilities
• Transportation to medical and specialist appointments
• Medical expenses and prescriptions not fully covered
• Basic living expenses during recovery
• Supporting her household while she’s unable to work
Zoraida is the kind of person who always shows up for others and rarely asks for help. Any support — whether donating or sharing — truly means the world and helps take some of the weight off her shoulders so she can focus on getting better.
Thank you so much for your kindness, prayers, and support.
