Help Support Yasmin's Children
Two years ago at the age of 30, our cousin Yasmin was diagnosed with an aggressive form of colon cancer. Yasmin, her husband Adam and their young children live in a remote, poverty-stricken village in eastern Serbia, where medical treatment is expensive, inaccessible and very low quality. Yasmin’s extended family in western Europe and the United States tried to financially support Yasmin and her husband as much as possible and regularly shipped cheaper medical alternatives from overseas. Adam worked full-time for extremely low income to try to afford accumulating medical costs and support a chance at a bright future for his children.
In July 2017, Yasmin lost her battle with cancer, leaving behind her husband and their beautiful children. The loss was unbearable, especially for young children who are living their nightmare. Adam is struggling to pay off the medical debt, funeral expenses and ensure that his children are fed, clothed and have school supplies. He had to return to work immediately after the funeral so as to not lose one days’ worth of pay.
