9/30 Update: When David arrived at rehab, he almost immediately encountered complications with his brain controlling important bodily functions. Though he has shown such incredible strength throughout this journey his body can no longer continue the fight. He has now been placed in comfort care where the focus is on keeping him peaceful and surrounded by love.

During this tender time we ask that you keep David, Kelli, and Lea in your prayers. The road ahead will bring challenges for Kelli and her daughter, but with the continued love and support of their “village,” they will not face them alone. Your kindness, generosity, and encouragement give them strength and hope as they hold onto the precious moments they have had together.

We know folks may have questions and we ask that you reach out to Kelli’s sister Nicole so that Kelli and Lea can focus on David at this time.

9/26 update: We wanted to share an update with all of you who have been keeping David in your thoughts. After a few recent setbacks David was transferred to rehab on 9/24 and is beginning the next stage of his recovery journey. We remain hopeful.

At this time, visitors will be limited to family so David can focus fully on his healing. We know how much love and care surrounds him, and your continued support means the world to both David and his family.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the inquiries, love and support. Kelli, David and Lea could not do this without all of you.

On August 13th, David’s life changed in an instant when he went into sudden cardiac arrest. What followed was something no family could ever prepare for. David was rushed to Albany Medical Center, where he has been fighting for his life in the cardiac ICU.

Each day, he shows small but meaningful signs of progress—slowly regaining consciousness, responding to stimuli, and giving hope to those who love him most. But the truth is, no one, not even the doctors, knows what David’s long-term recovery will look like. What is certain is that his road to healing will be long and challenging.

During this difficult time, David’s wife Kelli has been by his side. With David unable to work and Kelli making daily trips to the hospital, the financial strain has quickly become overwhelming. The loss of income, combined with travel costs and other expenses, is more than Kelli can carry alone.

We are asking for support—no matter how big or small—to help ease the burden for Kelli and Lea while they focus on what matters most: being there for David. Every donation, every share, and every prayer makes a difference.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting David and his family through this incredibly difficult time.

Update: 9/2/25. The family wishes we had more of any update but we are waiting for David to tell us what’s next. He’s still resting and healing. Soon the doctors will work to see if he can be weened off the vent and begin the next stage in treatment. He’s still unresponsive but everyone remains hopeful for progress in his recovery. Keep sending Kelli and Lea all of your supportive words and prayers. It helps being surrounded by friends and family who care. Thank you for all of their support.
