Hi my name is Baylee and I’m raising money to help my sister Alesia, my brother in law Kasyn, and my sweet nephew Briggs. I’m trying to raise money to help Alesia and Kasyn with all the extra costs of hospital stays, food, bills, gas, missing work, etc.

 

Last night Kasyn and Alesia took Briggs to the ER with some oxygen issues. Turns out that due to throwing up a lot the previous couple of days he ended up with pneumonia likely from aspirating. After running some other tests he also has some form of heart failure going on so 4:30 AM this morning Alesia was on a plane with him headed to Primary Childrens. This little warrior is fighting hard.

 

Since being born Briggs has had a tough go at life. He’s had many hospital stays, many tests done, and not lived a normal infant life. He was on a NG tube and just recently had a PEG tube placed.

 

He was diagnosed in October with Partial Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum (P-ACC) by a brain mri. It is a rare condition, currently the highest estimate is 7/1000 individuals, that is usually diagnosed in the first 2yrs of life. Unfortunately, due to the spectrum of symptoms being so large, many go undiagnosed until adulthood if not at all. The symptoms can be seizures, low muscle tone, vision/hearing impairment, feeding problems, developmental delays, headaches, speech issues, abnormal head/facial features, chronic constipation, poor motor skills, lack of social skills and much more. Our favorite ‘symptom’ is that they have a generally happy disposition and enjoy being around people, which describes Briggs to a T! He has a long road of genetic testing, drs, appointments and therapies in his future.
