The Vision

From a walk on the Riverwalk to a movement for the city — this is River City Vision Initiative.

For more than 13 years, through D.U.C.K. Mentoring (Discipline, Understanding, Confidence, Knowledge), I’ve been blessed to serve the youth of Danville by teaching life skills, athletic development, and leadership. What started as one free camp has grown into a mentorship network that’s changed lives — over 200 kids a year, 45+ college athletes, and countless families impacted.

Now, it’s time to take the next step.

The Mission

The River City Vision Initiative will establish a state-of-the-art athletic and mentoring facility in Danville, Virginia — a place where mentorship meets movement, and faith fuels purpose.

This 10,000-square-foot facility will include:

• A performance training center for youth and adults.

• Classroom and mentoring space for education and leadership development.

• Recovery and wellness areas to promote total health.

• Community programs connecting families, seniors, and youth.

Our motto is simple:

Faith. Focus. Forward.

Everybody Gets Better.

Why It Matters

Danville is full of potential — talented youth, hardworking families, and a community ready to rise. But too many young people lack safe spaces, positive role models, and access to professional-level training and mentorship.

This facility will change that. It will be a safe, inclusive environment where everyone — from grandma to grandson — can grow stronger, physically and mentally, in a judgment-free space built on unity and opportunity.
