Hi, I’m Angie Koch. Our wonderful family friends Richard & TeriAnn New, their two young adult children Destaney New, Kenny New and TeriAnn’s Mom aka Grandma Kathy Potter and family suffered a devastating loss to their Apartment/Shop/Barn Fire on Saturday, April 18th. The fire not only destroyed everything they owned in the apartment, barn and shop, but they unfortunately suffered the loss of their four beloved family dogs. We and they are very grateful that no one was in the apartment/barn/shop at the time and that most of the family was in the main house having dinner. The five fire crews on scene were able to put out the fire, contain it to the one large multi unit structure and protect and save their family home from any more loss.

Right now the family is dealing with the aftermath and are devastated. Grandma Kathy, Destaney and Kenny all resided in the apartment and only have the clothes on their backs, as they lost everything. The entire family lost everything in the Barn and Shop, including all of their freezers full of meats and an enormous supply of freeze dried foods that they have been prepping for a year to feed their family. This GoFundMe was approved by the New’s and Kathy Potter as they are realizing how difficult this loss is financially by replacing the essentials etc.. and many friends and community members have asked how they can help. While insurance hopefully will help rebuild later in time, they are dealing with today and trying to replace essential items and personal belongings they lost and the countless unseen expenses that follow a tragedy like this. The road ahead will be challenging, but with the support of a caring community and people like you, we can help them begin replacing the essential items lost in the fire now.
