Help support the Mcinerney family

Hey Guys,

Just an update on Shay's journey and after Deborah's last update, they now have a diagnosis and an idea of the treatment plan ahead.

Unfortunately Shay has been diagnosed with a rare genetic auto immune disease called XLP (X-linked lymphoproliferative disease) which to give you an insight, 1 and 1 million males worldwide have this condition.

The treatment required in the short term is a bone marrow transplant, which can only be carried out in Newcastle, UK where they will have to relocate for a minimum of 4-6 months.  Aside from that huge journey they are about to embark on, they are still in Dublin where his team are based and working tirelessly for Shay and will be for several more weeks while they organize and plan the treatment in the UK.

The treatment required for the long term post transplant will require weekly trips back and forth to Dublin for continuing treatment and assessments.

With that we have decided to re-activate this Go Fund Me due to help with the unknown financial burden that Shay's family will face.  So if you can help in anyway, big or small by donating and sharing the link for this page.

Most of all, keep the candles lit and #shine4shay

We will keep you all updated on Shays progress 13/01/2022 :)

A massive thank you to everyone that donated. Deborah and Steve have sent this message:

Hi everyone,
From myself, Steve and shay's sister Roisin....
Saying thank you isnt enough. It really isnt.

To my girls who set up this page because they wanted to support us as a family. They persevered.I was quite nervous about it and now look. Look what ye have created for us ❤

We are very aware of this time of year and we cant believe the generosity of you all.

All we want as a family is to be together to celebrate Christmas and we know that can't happen this year.
 But
The priority is Shay and getting him better. Getting to the bottom of what's causing this lung diesese.
May there be answers.  May he be awake soon.
Thank you all for your support and prayers.

We will never forget this ❤ thank you from the bottom of our hearts x
Deborah

Hi there,

Our names are Donna, Gemma, Laura and Karen. We are childhood friends with Deborah and are looking for any help possible.

One Tuesday 7th December this beautiful little boy Shay was admitted to CUH with pneumonia. A few hours later his condition deteriorated and was rushed to by ambulance to Temple Street hospital, Dublin.
He is currently on a ventilator in ICU while doctors struggle to find a diagnosis.

Shay is a very sick boy at the moment and his family and friends are distraught with worry.

Shay's parents Deborah and Steve have been out of work and at his bedside with the last two weeks with no indication of when he will coming home.

We have set up this Go Fund me page to help them financially in these hard time so its one less worry for them.

Any support would be greatly appreciated.
