On a recent trip to Thailand, my wife and I visited the Manna Home Photharam for Women and Children where we donated some much needed supplies such as rice, eggs, drinking water, toiletries and medical kits and you can watch the video of our visit at the following link: https://youtu.be/z1AHTOypox0
We were so deeply affected by the experience, and by the volunteers and children we met that my wife Grace and I want to continue supporting the foundation beyond what we donated on our trip.
The Manna Home Photharam for Woman & Children Foundation was established in 2007 with the cooperation of private corporations, volunteers from the USA and Habitat for Humanity. The mission was to build a shelter for children who have been abused physically, emotionally or sexually, or for children whose parents are not able to take care of them. Built on a 3-Rai property, Baan Manna Photharam has 3 main buildings. There are two dormitories and one main central building that includes a canteen, an activity space, and a recreational area.
Baan Manna Photharam is devoted to taking care of children from age 4 to 18 years old. Everyone is enrolled in schools in Photharam city and all the children carry out daily chores while they stay there. Aside from homework and cooking, other activities include worshipping together and praying for each other. There is a Christian worship service every Sunday at the church located on the shelter grounds.
The foundation's mission is to nurture these disadvantaged children with the best possible care so that they can grow into responsible adults. The foundation provides not only physical care, but they also nurture their spiritual well-being in the hope that they would come to know the Lord Jesus Christ. Education is important, and the foundation makes sure that each child gets the education that he/she deserves. They hope that as they grow into adulthood, they are ready for life, independent and able to earn a living on their own. The foundation wants to make a difference in these children’s lives, and they believe that they will become a blessing to others.
While the Manna Home Foundation takes in children placed there by the Thai authorities, they receive no government funding and rely solely on kind donations. Another difficulty they face is that international fundraising can be quite challenging because established platforms such as GoFundMe do not support campaigns in Thailand.
So with FULL DISCLOSURE, I must declare that the funds raised by this campaign are set to be distributed to the bank account of Tony Roberts, the Director of Analog Toys PTY LTD. Whenever funds are withdrawn from the campaign, I (Tony Roberts) will transfer the full amounts to the Thai bank account of the Manna Home Photharam for Women and Children and I will publicly post the transaction receipts on the Analog Toys YouTube channel page.
If anyones feels uncomfortable with this proposal you can donate directly to the Manna Home Photharam for Women and Children by using their website http://www.mannahomephotharam.com/donation however; you MUST have a Thai bank account held in your name in order to make donations via this website. This is why I have the set up the GoFundMe campaign for international supporters who want to donate through the Analog Toys GoFundMe campaign.
Help us help these disadvantaged children and perhaps one day the foundation will achieve their dream of building their own school within grounds of the Manna Home Photharam for Women and Children.
