Support for Tony Robinson and his family!

Please help Tony Robinson to get well soon & support his family!

Tony, known to so many as the popular, easy-going, professional driving instructor, loves life and works his socks off to provide for his family. Over the past 19 years he has helped hundreds of people pass their driving tests and truly adores his job.

But on 5th April the lovely Robinson Family sadly fell apart. Tony - gentle, loving husband to Kate & devoted dad to their two wonderful boys, Freddie and Gabriel - was rushed to A&E in the middle of the night. Tony had suddenly fallen extremely ill. He was experiencing frightening episodes of psychosis, flashbacks to past traumas and suffering blackouts and seizures. He was confused, terrified and in desperate need of medical help.

Kate and the boys, supported by neighbours, managed to get Tony to hospital but were totally unaware of how difficult a journey they were about to embark upon. They are still desperately worried for Tony as doctors continue to seek the right treatment and diagnosis.
To date, Tony has spent over a month in various hospitals and has undergone multiple tests (MRI, CT scan, lumbar puncture, X-rays, repeated blood tests to name but a few). Doctors have been perplexed - investigating underlying medical issues, potential neurological problems, inflammation of the brain or more recently, considering a possible diagnosis of severe depression triggered by stressful life events and repressed past trauma. Tony has also been referred to a specialist neurology ward. But, as things stand, Tony awaits a definitive diagnosis. It has been exhausting and deeply distressing for him.

Aided by the fantastic, hardworking NHS & supported by the love of his family, Tony is thankfully showing improvement but his recovery will take time. He is grappling to come to terms with what has happened and is facing an uncertain future. Tony will hopefully be returning home soon to be cared for full-time by Kate, but may face a long road to getting well, and of course, cannot return to work until he is properly diagnosed and makes a full and complete recovery. No one can predict exactly when that will be.

The family are determined to support Tony in whatever way they can but on a practical level, are struggling to make ends meet with mounting bills. Freddie 19, and Gabriel 15, have been so brave and are doing their best to support their mum, but Kate has recently suffered a breakdown herself, and continues to have frequent panic attacks over her desperate concern for Tony and her boys. They are all suffering but have been remarkably strong.
On top of all of this, they have recently been served a no fault notice to leave their much loved family home - a devastating blow when Tony needs the familiarity of a safe home environment and the continued support of his fantastic local community to aid his recovery.
The boys are being extremely resilient but Gabe is about to sit his GCSE's and Freddie has just missed starting his first university teaching placement. They are all in turmoil and distress.
We are doing everything we can as a family to support them, but if you would like to make a difference and help get this loving family through this dreadfully difficult time, any financial contribution, no matter how small, would be very gratefully appreciated as they currently have minimal income and mounting bills. Let's try to help them keep their heads above water during this difficult time.

Please help the amazing Robinson family support Tony so they can focus on helping him on his path to recovery.

Thank you so much for reading this. Please feel free to share this with anyone you know who may want to help them all pull through.
Let's help Tony get well and take at least one big stress away from him while he focuses on getting better.

Thanks so much everyone,
With much love & grateful thanks,
Helen (Kate's sister) xxxx
