Help support the family of David Barns
Donation protected
We lost our loved one, David, this week to the disease of addiction and mental illness. I met David at DePaul Treatment Center, and we connected immediately. He was a wonderful human being that was weighed down by his inner torment. David was diagnosed with PTSD, depression, and anxiety and worked with physicians to find the right meds to stabilize his mental illness. Unfortunately, he could not see through the darkness and found self-medicating as his only relief. I was proud to be his sponsor and worked to guide him through the 12 steps of AA. David was also an active member of our recovery running group, Go The Distance (GTD). He wanted to recover from his addictions to be the best man he could be for his young family. He was a kind and sensitive man who loved his wife, children, and his Lancer that he was always working on. David left behind his wife and three children, Rylan, 13, Silas, 9, and Angel, 6. This loss has put tremendous financial stress on his young family at a time when they need to be focused on mourning and figuring out what life will be like moving forward without a husband and father.
Let’s come together to support this family in these trying times.
Thank you very much.
