Champ is a ray of sunshine, everyone who knows him loves his positivity, kindness and witty sense of humour. Beyond being a valued friend, loyal husband and devoted father, he truly is a beautiful and genuinely good person.
On the holiday of May 2nd, our friend Champ decided to spend the day with his family. Being the good and generous cook that he is, he prepared a meal for his family filled with all of their favourite dishes. The celebration continued and the family gathered together for a movie night.
During the movie night, Champ was hit with a severe asthma attack, he asked for an inhaler, but it didn’t help. Freedom, his wife, prepared the nebulizer but it was also ineffective. Champ couldn’t speak, but he pointed toward his cousin’s house and Freedom went to ask for help.
When Freedom got back, she saw what she described as the most heroic act that Champ could have done in that moment. With his last ounce of strength before losing consciousness, he told Freedom and his son that he loved them.
It took 15 minutes to get to the hospital, Champ went into cardiac arrest 4 times before finally falling into a coma.
Freedom feels like she can still vividly remember every detail of what happened, and her son has been asking if his dad is going to come home anytime soon.
We're raising funds to help cover Champ’s hospital bills and any other expenses that have come up during this time. Champ and Freedom have a child and a baby on the way, we want to do whatever we can to support them and ease some stress as they recover from this devastating situation.
Anything that you can contribute, be it a small donation or a show of support to the family, would be greatly appreciated.
