My uncle, Taldo AlTelawy, met his wife Elizabeth in London in 1999, where they fell in love. Together they welcomed their daughter, Maryanne, who is Taldo’s only child and his entire world. Their bond is truly unbreakable. Maryanne often says she couldn’t have asked for a better dad; he is always by her side no matter what and always has her best interest at heart.

Taldo has always been so naturally funny without even trying, always bringing laughter to those around him. He’s a kind, generous man who constantly puts others before himself.

For many years, Taldo worked hard as a security guard at Rolls-Royce. Unfortunately in August 2025, our family received the heartbreaking news that Taldo has been diagnosed with stage 3 advanced lung cancer .

This devastating diagnosis has shaken us all. Taldo now faces a long and difficult journey involving chemotherapy and immunotherapy, followed — we hope — by surgery if all goes well.

Sadly, he is no longer able to work due to his illness and ongoing treatment. The bills for medical expenses, travel to and from appointments, and everyday living costs are piling up fast.

While the UK healthcare system provides some support, there are still many gaps — especially for specialist care, home adaptations, and lost income. We want Taldo to be able to focus entirely on his fight, without the added stress of financial worries.
