Help Support Sicily and Her Family Through Recovery
On October 15th, my sweet 6-year-old niece, Sicily, began feeling very sick. After several days with no relief, her doctor sent her to the emergency room — where things quickly became serious. She was airlifted to Cook Children’s Hospital in Dallas for emergency care.
After extensive testing, the doctors discovered multiple abscesses in her abdomen and a severely ruptured appendix. The infection had spread so quickly that it began to affect her liver, causing her skin to turn yellow. It’s been a terrifying experience for our family, but through it all, Sicily has shown incredible strength and bravery.
This week, she had to have fluid drained from her abdomen and later underwent surgery to remove her appendix. Thankfully, her fever has finally started to come down, and she’s on the road to recovery — but she still has a long way to go. Doctors expect her to remain hospitalized until at least October 29th.
While Sicily continues to heal, my brother Jake and sister-in-law Sydney have been by her side every moment — missing work, staying in Dallas, and being away from their three other little girls at home. I’ve created this GoFundMe to help ease some of their financial stress during this difficult time — covering food, gas, missed income, and other essentials while they focus on what matters most: Sicily’s recovery.
If you’re able to donate, share this fundraiser, or even send a meal or words of encouragement, it would mean the world to our family. Every little bit truly helps.
Thank you all for your kindness, love, and prayers for our strong little warrior, Sicily
