Help support Sari during her fight
Donation protected
Hello, we are not only friends but chosen family of Sari’s. We are trying to raise money to financially help Sari and her family, as she is currently in ICU, battling for her life. Sari is and always has been a generous, caring soul who would go out of her way to help anyone in need. Unfortunately, Sari is now in need of support more than ever. Sari is a devoted mother to 3 children (Tea, Teemu, and Tinja), a proud mumu to 4 grandchildren (Serene, Lizzy, Crawford and Flora), as well as great friend to many of us. Sari has recently been admitted to TBRHSC ICU and currently in critical condition. She will need financial assistance as she is off work and has no extended health benefit. Please see info provided by Sari’s children.
If you know our mom—your friend, your relative, your coworker, Sari—you know she has spent her entire life caring for others. She’s a strong, stubborn Finn with a heart of gold, always the first to help someone in need. Now, she’s the one who needs our help.
On Friday, Sari went to the emergency room with low oxygen levels and what was thought to be a touch of pneumonia. But after chest scans, we received devastating news from the thoracic surgeon: there was a high chance it was cancer. A tumor was found on her right lung, pressing dangerously on her airway. A biopsy was deemed too risky.
By early Sunday morning, her condition worsened—her oxygen dropped dangerously low, and she was rushed to the ICU. We spoke with the ICU doctor and were told the words no family ever wants to hear: her time is limited. The tumor had already grown between Friday and Sunday’s scans.
She’s now on full oxygen support and medications to help her breathe. Despite the odds, she had her first high-dose radiation treatment yesterday, with the hope of shrinking the tumor and buying her more time.
Sari has spent her whole life giving to others. She’s still fighting—hard. But now she needs our help to take care of herself. She’s off work indefinitely, and the financial stress is adding to an already overwhelming situation.
We are raising funds to help cover her bills, rent, and medical costs that may arise so she can focus on the fight ahead without added worry. Any amount helps, and your kindness means the world to our family.
Please consider donating or sharing. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
