Help support Samuel, Miranda and baby Nova!

As we are learning to accept the tragic loss of baby Nova, we also reflect on how many people reached out to donate and help Samuel and Miranda get through such a tough series of events.  These 2 beautiful and humble people need help one more time.  We are asking that if anyone would have it in there hearts to donate once more to help them lessen the brunt of the costs of the funeral that now needs to occur.  As always if you cannot make a donation words of love and comfort are very much appreciated and held with the utmost love.  We are so grateful for the love and support that has been there since this journey began. 

Samuel and Miranda are young 21 year olds excited to start a lovely large family. They became extremely excited for their first baby expected to arrive in December 2021. These two loving individuals started preparing for baby to come, shopping for necessities and getting a house together.

Unfortunately a unexpected complication was discovered, Baby Nova has a heart defect called Pulmonary Valve Stenosis; her pulmonary valve is too small effecting the blood flow from her heart to her lungs. It was also discovered her femurs are smaller then they should be. This is due to a FN1- related disorder called spondylometaphyseal dysphasia, this disorder only has 45 known cases. This can lead to limited joint range of motion, chronic pain, vision impairment, mild- severe scoliosis and kidney disease that worsens with age and leads to end-stage renal failure in the 2nd to 6th decade of life. On top of all that nova has a WHK3 gene mutation which is completely unknown, with little to no research.

Baby Nova will need surgery as soon as she is born. she will need to be followed up by a cardiologist her whole life in oder to keep an eye on her conditions.

Samuel and Miranda have been trough countless tests, trying to gather all the information they need to help Nova in every way they can. Their love is unconditional and they will to do everything they can to help their child. Both Samuel and Miranda worked as long as they could , they are now struggling financially as Samuels company closed their doors leaving him jobless.

Due to covid-19 The hospital only allows Samuel to stay with Miranda from 10 AM until 7:30 PM. Being in Toronto he has had limited places to stay. Family has supported him as much as possible with coving the costs of cab rides to and from the hospital, and with places to sleep. When cab rides weren’t an option, due to expenses, Samuel was prepared to walk to be there with Miranda. They will have to stay in the Ronald McDonald house after nova is born and will need money to cover the cost.

This fundraiser is to cover the cost of their stay at the Ronald McDonald house, food, transportation basic necessities, and upcoming medical expenses ie. Therapy, Medication, etc.
