Help Support Sam’s Journey to Recovery

On October 18th, our lives changed forever. We almost lost Sam. He has had, and continues to face, the biggest battle of his life. Sam is still in intensive care, fighting through serious, life-altering injuries. He is now stable, breathing on his own, and making progress each day.

Sam’s injuries are severe. Both of his lungs collapsed; he needed blood transfusions on the scene; he suffered a fractured skull, a bleed on the brain, and most of his ribs are broken, along with other injuries. His chest and head injuries are significant, and we don’t yet know the full extent of the impact on both his brain and body. Recovery will be incredibly challenging, but with the right care, support, and time, there is hope we can get Sam back to being himself.

Sam has always been the one to help everyone else – he’s the fixer, the one who’d drop everything to make sure others are okay. Now he’s the one who needs fixing, and it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to watch.

He’s receiving incredible care from the NHS, and I can’t stress enough how grateful we are to everyone who’s been there for him so far. But as his family, we’re preparing for the challenges ahead. We want to be ready for whatever he needs to make his recovery possible and to keep financial worries from limiting his care.

The funds we’re raising will go directly toward supporting Sam in the following ways:

Sam didn’t have health insurance, and our business insurance doesn’t cover these circumstances. I’ve set up this GoFundMe to give him every bit of support he needs to fight his way back and to help him adapt to whatever his life may become. Sam is genuinely one of the good ones, and even if this gives him just a 1% better chance or makes life that bit easier, he deserves it.

Right now, we don’t know exactly what Sam will or won’t need, but I want to have everything in place to make life as easy and comfortable for him as possible, whatever that looks like.
