Back in May, Dad received the devastating news that he had been diagnosed with Stage 2 Small Cell Carcinoma (lung cancer). Since then, he has faced this battle with incredible strength and courage. Over the summer, he endured an intense treatment schedule — 15 rounds of chemotherapy and 33 sessions of radiation in just two months. These treatments left him struggling with debilitating side effects, leaving him unable to work. Donna has been by his side every step of the way, also taking a leave of absence from her teaching position before summer holidays began.

Dad's fight is far from over. While the initial treatment helped, it didn’t work as well as doctors had hoped. His journey now continues with monthly immunotherapy treatments, which bring their own set of side effects and challenges. Through it all, he has remained hopeful and determined to keep pushing forward.

Along with being a devoted father to David and I, he is a loving husband to Donna, a caring step-father to Aisha and RJ, and his newest and most cherished role: “Poppy” to his sweet granddaughter Rylie. To know him is to know kindness, generosity, and a heart that is always ready to help others. Now it’s our turn to help him.
