We are trying to raise funds for Redhouse Boys & Girls Club — a registered charity (Charity No. 1186700), also known as Redhouse Boxing Club.
Recently, the club moved into an old working men’s club building, and what has been achieved so far has only been possible because of the incredible local community. Volunteers worked tirelessly, giving up their own time to help renovate and transform the space into somewhere safe, welcoming and positive for children and young people.
Sadly, there were major setbacks along the way after somebody deliberately set fire to the building, causing significant damage and delaying progress. Despite this, the community continued to come together determined to get the club reopened for the children who rely on it.
This club is so much more than boxing.
It gives young people a place to belong, somewhere to train, socialise, build confidence, learn discipline and stay off the streets. It supports children from all walks of life, helping guide, nurture and encourage them while creating positive connections and opportunities within the community. It can also play an important role in rehabilitation, mental wellbeing and helping young people feel valued and supported.
The club currently needs:
More 4oz and 6oz boxing gloves for younger children
Flooring and equipment for the new premises
Continued support to help keep classes running for the community
Some classes have over 25 children attending, and the demand continues to grow.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a genuine difference to the children and young people who use this club each week. Even simply sharing this post could help us reach somebody willing to help.
Thank you for supporting a community that truly cares about its young people.
