Help support Patrick's Emergency Surgery
UPDATE: Any money donated over our goal for Patrick will go directly to Greenpoint Cats and their tireless efforts to help with an unprecedented rise of abandoned and community cats & kittens in the North Brooklyn area. Thank you all SO much for donating & sharing. ❤️
I'm raising money to benefit Patrick, a seemingly dumped*, very sweet domesticated cat who needs emergency surgery due to severe puncture wounds. As a North Williamsburg community member, with the assistance of Greenpoint Cats, we were able to humanely trap (the very elusive) Patrick this weekend and bring him into our bathroom after witnessing his distress and cries in our backyard over the period of this past month.
Once brought inside, we noticed blood on the floor of our bathroom and we rushed him in for an emergency vet visit. There it was discovered he had a severe puncture wound at the juncture of his tail and torso, was unneutered and not microchipped.
He needs to undergo surgery to flush and stitch his wound, and simultaneously be neutered. Due to the location of the puncture and depth, we are hoping his tail does not need to be amputated. The sooner we are able to raise funds for his treatment & surgery, the better chance he has at avoiding amputation.
Once he's recovered from surgery, he will be available for adoption.
*When we first spotted him, we posted photos approx one month ago to NextDoor, Instagram & the local community, but no one has come forward.
Any size donation will help make an impact to help cover his surgery, medication, recovery & transportation. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to helping Patrick in his surgery and recovery.
