The Paramount Page program is an excellent career development program designed for its participants to advance their skills and talent in the entertainment industry. Like many other entry-level jobs, it is also part-time. Given the pause on studio tours in the interest of public safety surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), this means that for the foreseeable future these talented individuals will be without their typical stream of income. I am a former employee of the Page Program and maintain close contacts with the people in this program, and have created a registry of current pages to equally receive these funds once they have been withdrawn.
While there are systems in place in California to help supplement some wage loss, we as former pages know how precarious a situation this is. This campaign was designed by previous pages for current pages. However, if you've never been a part of the page program, or have taken Paramount's excellent studio tour, or have never even visited the lot and wish to support some workers in a tough spot beyond their control, I encourage you to donate what you see fit.
During COVID-19, there are many groups of people who need support worldwide and I encourage you to help out somebody, even if it isn't this campaign. This campaign was designed by people who have experienced and benefited from a specific job, hoping to pass along help to those currently in that position. Please make sure you are doing what you can to make sure you and your community members are staying healthy and secure during these times.
